Who remembers seeing this photo ever on major media outlets ? This is the reason I decided to post about this, the power behind this picture of muslim/christian understanding is powerful. For Arafat ( muslim ) to kiss the pope’s hand (christian ) blows away the stereotype we are always sold on media outlets that work to keep the people divided. Muslims and Christians are both people and with their differences, they have fairly gotten along really well, taking aside the political/power hungry motivated people out of the picture and you will find they have lived in peace for thousand plus years already.
Religion does not teach to oppress, but to punish the guilty and if they repent then forgiveness is to be shown. The media constantly bombards people with misdirected stories to shift public opinion and fact is many people fear Muslims/Islam even though they personally never met muslims or had any relations with one. Some people are making a career now out of attacking Islam, as others done so attacking Christianity, Judaism or any other faith. Ask yourself, How come Ive never seen this photo before ? Can the media play a large role in misleading the people ? The answer is provided in history and the facts that mainstream is one of the reason some of the worst atrocities that have happened at the hands of mankind. Power and control does not come with money only, it will always need public support and finding how to manipulate the public view for their support.
